CBS Announces: Young Sheldon Set for Its Seventh and Final Season

CBS has announced that “Young Sheldon,” the popular prequel series to “The Big Bang Theory,” will be concluding after its upcoming seventh season. The series, which will premiere its final season on February 15, is set to end with a special one-hour series finale on May 16.

Created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, “Young Sheldon” has been a journey back to the origins of Sheldon Cooper’s genius. Starring Iain Armitage as Sheldon, the show has delved into his unique talents in mathematics and science set against the backdrop of East Texas, where church and football reign supreme.

Executive producers Steve Holland, Molaro, and Lorre expressed their gratitude to fans for embracing the story of the Cooper family over the past six seasons. They shared their excitement about sharing the final season with the audience.

CBS president Amy Reisenbach praised “Young Sheldon” for its remarkable cast and heartfelt stories, acknowledging it as a successful prequel to one of television’s biggest comedies. The network looks forward to giving the series a fitting send-off with its final season.

While “Young Sheldon” is coming to an end, a new spin-off series from “The Big Bang Theory” universe is currently in development at Max, promising more stories from this beloved TV world.

“Young Sheldon,” produced by Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros. Television, also stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Jim Parsons, who narrates as the adult Sheldon​​​​​​​​.
