Joaquin Pheonix is back as the Joker and this time he is bringing a huge star beside him as Harley Quinn. Lady Gaga previously announced she would be stepping into the role of Joker’s love interest and she SHOWED UP. Joker: Folie à Deux is currently shooting around New York City and Newark, New Jersey, and it was only a matter of time before the pair was spotted in costume and character.
The first photos of Gaga as Quinn have been released and her character may look slightly different from the character we all know and love. The make-up on Gaga’s Harley Quinn is much lower-key and more grounded compared to the stylized look Margot Robbie sported as the character in her DCEU films.
The long awaited Joker sequel is set to be the first movie released under the new DC Elseworlds label. In the film, rumored to be a musical, Phoenix, reprises his role as the legendary Batman villain the Joker, while Gaga is his longtime henchwoman and love interest, whom the sinister prankster first met when she served as his psychiatrist at Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum.
Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled to be released in theaters on Oct. 4, 2024
