Cameron Diaz Quits Acting Again Over Jamie Foxx Meltdown

Cameron Diaz announced her retirement from acting in 2018. After a lot of convincing, Diaz was lured back into the film industry by her good friend Jamie Foxx to make the comedy-action film “Back in Action” for Netflix. According to an unnamed source, Foxx allegedly had a meltdown on set causing Diaz to retreat back into retirement.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2018, Diaz stated that she was no longer interested in acting and that she had retired from the profession. Diaz had a successful career in Hollywood, starring in films such as “There’s Something About Mary,” “Charlie’s Angels,” and “The Mask.” However, she decided to step away from the industry to focus on her personal life and other interests.

Foxx and Diaz had a history of working together. They appeared together in the 2014 movie “Annie.” In the movie, Diaz played the role of Miss Hannigan, while Foxx played the character of Will Stacks. “Annie” is a musical comedy-drama film directed by Will Gluck, and it is based on the 1924 Little Orphan Annie comic strip.

They also worked together on 1999’s sports drama Any Given Sunday, directed by Oliver Stone. In the movie, Diaz played the role of Christina Pagniacci, the owner of a professional football team, while Foxx played the role of Willie Beamen, a young quarterback. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Al Pacino, Dennis Quaid, James Woods, LL Cool J, and many others.

On March 15, 2023 it was reported Diaz and Foxx’s new movie had halted production due to a “meltdown” Foxx had on set causing four people to be fired.

“There have been some issues on set and Jamie has had a major meltdown over it all,” the insider said. “He demanded the problems be sorted immediately and sacked four of the production staff — as if that would magically improve the situation.” The source added: “Some people working on it are totally fed up with how this has played out and Jamie has become pretty unpopular.”

According to the Daily Mail, a crew member on the film was trying to convince Foxx to become a part of a $40,000 scam. This crew member was thought to be linked to previous scams involving wealthy celebrities. Authorities were called to the movie set for further investigation.

“This film has been a bit of a nightmare… There have been a lot of delays, especially with the weather thanks to filming outdoors in London in winter, but the latest issue is a bit more sinister. One staffer has been sacked, and there are investigations after someone tried to get access to £33,000 in cash from Jamie Foxx.” The insider continued: “It sounds as though they tried to offer up a Rolex watch as part of the deal but now there’s an investigation into everything going on. People will be glad when this thing finally wraps.” With regards to the impact all of this has had on Foxx’s friend Diaz, the source said: “She hates drama and confrontation. This is why she retired in the first place.”

As of March 23, 2023 Diaz and Foxx are back on set filming what she is calling “her last movie”.
